orthodontics and clear aligners (Invisilign)

When we think of orthodontic treatment ,the first thing that comes to mind is big bulky metal bracketrs, joined by a metal wire. this was the way orthodontics was done for many decades.

However there is a new alternative available to the new orthodontic patients. Clear aligners are easier ,safer and sometimes faster and more prediictable. Invisilign is the most recognized brand in the USA. Although many competators are evolving .

like many other innovations there are some drawbacks. First and foremost is the compliance. In other word the patient is responsible to wear the corrective alligner for most of the day and of course during sleep. depending on the case the minimum requirement is 16 -20 hours /day.

second draw back is the cost,which seems to be slightly higher than traditional braces. Although for many the extra costr is well worth the convinance and the esthetics.

there are still many who are cadidates for traditional braces only , and that has served us well for many years . Now ther is a second option for some.
